Welcome to The World of Classical Ballet
Classical Ballet is an intellectual discipline, an athletic pursuit and an artistic expression. It is the prayer of Maranatha Ballet to impart a vision of dance as a tool for ministry to our young ladies and to also help them gain a more clear perspective of their bodies as a temple of the Lord. Our goals will remain the same throughout the year as follows: 1) To give honor and glory to Our Lord in all that we do.
2) To encourage one another in our walk with Christ.
3) To embrace the vision of ministry to the unsaved as well as the building up of the saints.
4) To learn the language and correct terminology of ballet positions and steps.
5) To learn the proper positioning and technique for the barre as well as center work.
6) To discipline our mind's as well as our bodies to accomplish what we require of them.
7) To build physical stamina as well as mental accuracy.
8) To cultivate poise, artistic interpretation, and expression.
9) To foster a sense of team work and an appreciation for each individual's efforts.
10) And lastly to develop a healthy mental attitude with regard to self discipline and personal excellance.
I hope that you will join us as we go forward for Christ in a ministry of dance to "Praise Him with timbrel and dancing." I will consider it both an honor and privilege to be entrusted with your child's dance education as well as the usage of her talents for the glory of God.
